Since we've been very busy with getting films and looking at prospects for the class of 2011, we are going to start a new feature on Sunday, called "The Inside Track." Basically, it's a recruiting column on the IE, the IE and nothing but the IE.
In the column we'll have recruiting stories plus a feature I ook from SI's Peter King called 10 Things I Think I think.
The first one is coming on Sunday.

Check out the WR numbers...
If there is a more fun position group to follow right now in the area, it's the WR core. According to Maxpreps, here are the top five WR in yards receiving in the IE...
1. Antoine Arnold (Junior, Chapparal) 19 rec, 392 yards
2. Vanzell Richardson (Senior, San Bernardino) 15 rec 377 yards
3. Sean Alston (Senior, Los Osos) 25 rec, 374 yards
4. Austin Hill (Senior, Corona Roosevelt), 10 rec. 343 yards
5. Chance Gunyard (Senior, Claremont) 13 rec, 295 yards
Here are my thoughts: Arnold is a stud. Richardson will be watched very closely by us. Alston is the ultimate sleeper. You all know how we feel about Hill and Gunyard is having a nice senior year.
This is a very strong group that will only get better as the season goes along.

Todd Handley of Riverside King... Could he be the best in 2011
If you remember back to our rankings that we posted for the class of 2011, one of the players that just missed being in our top-10 was Todd Handley (5-8, 153, 4.56) of Riveside King HS.
We loved him at the Nike Combine and the Nike Camp. Most importantly, he started at RB his sophomore year and did a really good job.
Well, if his last two games are any indication, he's sitting on a big 2011. Two weeks ago, he absolutely lit it up against Palm Desert, rushing for 242 yards on 20 carries.
That was on top of a huge game against Heritage in which he carried the ball 16 times for 156 yards and two touchdowns.
He'll definitely make our top 10 in a very short time. He's definitely making himself to being the top running back for the class of 2011.

Bobby Ratliff of Etiwanda to Washington State
The big news of the morning is the word that Etiwanda WR Bobby Ratliff (6-1, 180, 4.7e) has committed to Washington State.

This is one of those middle of the road recruits that Washington State usually gets and thrives on. Ratliff is rated 26th currently of our top 100 recruits for the IE and the East SGV Regardless of Position. And he is our fourth rated player for the WR position.
This is the second recruit that Washington State has picked up. They also have secured a commitment from Brandon Golden (RB) of Charter Oak. Interesting pick up.

Deontae Cooper to Washington
It's being reported that Citrus Hill RB Deontae Cooper has committed to Washington.
First off here is Greg Biggins' story right here.
This is a huge pick-up for the Huskies. Our service has Cooper rated as the fifth best player in the IE Regardless of Position. He is the type of running back that Steve Sarkisian needs at Washington. Good looking body that can run downhill in a hurry.
The Huskies are in the game also for Corona RB Jordon James. If they get both James and Cooper, they are on their way to having a great recruiting class.
We are projecting right now that Redlands East Valley DE Andrew Hudson could very well be a Husky too. That means Washington could nab three of our top-10 rated players in the area. Washington is making inroads and it's making life in the Pac-10 very interesting.

Priority Sleepers...
Our service has tabbed four players as priority sleepers. These are prospects that caught our eye on film last year, performed well at the combines and are not getting as much as ink on recruiting websites. So here are the four players that you may not have heard about...until now!!!!
Ronald Douglas (Chaffey, ATH, 4.87) -- He ran one of the fastest 40's at the LA Combine and has backed up a nice off-season with two really good games to start the season. He has 45 carries for 322 yards (avg 7.22 yards per carry) and has four touchdowns. Looks good on film, he's on his way to getting big looks if he continues to perform like his has the last two weeks.
Will Smith (Riverside Notre Dame, ATH, 6-2, 186, 4.82) -- Another kid that caught our eye at the Nike LA Combine, and he had a great UCLA camp this summer has lit up the stat board for ND. He has carried the ball 23 times for 117 yards and leads the teams in tackles with 12 (6 of them solo). Looking forward to getting the tape so we can take a gook look at him. Impressive.
Kenny Mitchell (Etiwanda, ATH, 5-10, 177, 4.70) -- This was one of the ten fastest 40 yard electronic dashes at the LA Nike Combine, and he has made himself a threat at the WR position, opposite that of stud WR Bobby Ratliff. Has 7 catches for 71 yard (Ratliff has 78 yards on 4 receptions) and coaches have been raving about him. Looking forward to seeing him in action on Friday night this week.
Cedric Provost (Canyon Spring, CB, 6-0, 177, 4.68) -- Another one that blew up the timers at the Nike LA Combine, Provost has disappointed a bit in the early part of the season. But he has an upside and could catch some momentum late in the year. Has 10 carries for 34 yards and has four tackles (two of the solo) -- and for a corner prospect..that's not bad. One to follow.
